IDEAS Claims Management System

IDEAS is the South Australian Public Sector Workers Compensation claims management system. The IDEAS system is a client-server database system which provides on-line access to authorised claims management staff across the public sector. The system provides a comprehensive database of claims and claimant information to enable reporting at all levels from cost centre level within an agency to whole of government.

IDEAS has a number of in-built control features to assist in the management of claims, including checks against gazetted rates for services, checks to prevent duplicate payments, as well as automatic calculation of outstanding liabilities, and extensive authorisation and security features. IDEAS also incorporates a workflow management feature which enables users of the system to see the status of their workload, in terms number of claims, undetermined claims, etc.

The SA Public Sector implementation of IDEAS also includes interfaces to the whole of Government financial and HR systems (Masterpiece and Concept) as well as customised rehabilitation features

The IDEAS system provides a range of standard reports on a daily, weekly, monthly and quarterly basis. 

IDEAS RS (Reporting System)

The IDEAS Reporting System is a web based facility to provide enhanced reporting from the IDEAS system as well as reporting from the HIRS system. IDEAS RS is accessible from any PC with a browser and the necessary web access. Users must be registered and have a current logon id and password.

IDEAS RS operates on an extract of the IDEAS database which has been copied onto a separate server. A range of standard reports is created each month, and users can also run ad hoc parameter driven reports. The IDEAS RS reports are viewable on-screen prior to printing. The IDEAS RS system also provides the capability of extracting data into Excel for more detailed manipulation, and macros are provided to created extensive pivot tables for analysis purposes.
