Injury Management

by siteadmin last modified 25-10-2007 08:35

Injury Management seeks to support the Government's vision of 100% Return to Work for all work injured public sector employees, restoring them to fulltime work and their place in the community.

What is Injury Management?
Injury Management is essentially about effective communication and coordination between claims and rehabilitation practitioners, employers, employees and medical practitioners, to ensure that injured workers are returned to the workforce as safely and quickly as possible. It is a holistic approach which ultimately aims to reduce the human and financial impact of work related injuries.

How can it be successful?
Although claims and rehabilitation practitioners have distinct responsibilities and roles to play in the process, it is imperative that the practitioners work closely together to continually develop pro-active case management and rehabilitation strategies to overcome return to work barriers and achieve sustainable return to work outcomes.

How can it be improved?
Injury Management programs and initiatives can enable organisations to improve performance in claims management and rehabilitation by ensuring that the best possible outcomes for both injured workers and the organisation are achieved.
